Following the runaway success in the US of series two of the Golden Globe-winning, hospital drama Grey's Anatomy, Five is launching a £1m cross channel TV, poster, press and online campaign to support its eagerly-anticipated released on UK terrestrial TV.
The press and poster campaign capitalises on the glamorous characters and emotional drama of the series, by featuring two of the show's biggest stars: Ellen Pompeo (Dr. Meredith Grey) and Patrick Dempsey (Dr. 'McDreamy' Shepherd), with the taglines 'Love is Inoperable' and 'Worth Getting Sick For' respectively.
The TV campaign draws on highly-charged emotional moments from the series, to the accompaniment of The Feeling song 'Fill My Little World'.
Simon Downing, Head of Marketing at Five, said: 'Focusing on the personal, rather than the patients, has set Grey's Anatomy apart from its competitors, and has helped make it a ratings winner, attracting some of the highest ratings and concentration of young female viewers of any prime time Five show.'
The print campaign was developed by VCCP, featuring photography by Mitch Jenkins and the TV campaign by Gus Kimber of Five's on-air creative team. Media was planned and bought by Vizeum.
The campaign breaks w/c 26th February. The second series of Grey's Anatomy airs Sunday 4th March.
